19 (A)Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves (B)treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; 21 for (C)where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

22 (D)The eye is the lamp of the body; so then, if your eye is [a]clear, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if (E)your eye is [b]bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. So if the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!

24 (F)No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and [c](G)wealth.

The Cure for Anxiety

25 (H)For this reason I say to you, [d]do not be (I)worried about your [e]life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is life not more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 (J)Look at the birds of the sky, that they do not sow, nor reap, nor gather crops into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more important than they? 27 And which of you by (K)worrying can (L)add a single [f]day to his [g]life’s span? 28 And why are you (M)worried about clothing? Notice how the lilies of the field grow; they do not labor nor do they spin thread for cloth, 29 yet I say to you that not even (N)Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the (O)grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? (P)You of little faith! 31 Do not (Q)worry then, saying, ‘What are we to eat?’ or ‘What are we to drink?’ or ‘What are we to wear for clothing?’ 32 For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for (R)your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But [h]seek first [i]His kingdom and His righteousness, and (S)all these things will be [j]provided to you.

34 “So do not (T)worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will [k]worry about itself. [l]Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Message to Philadelphia

“And to the angel of the church in (A)Philadelphia write:

(B)He who is holy, (C)who is true, who has (D)the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, and who shuts and no one opens, says this:

(E)I know your [a]deeds. Behold, I have put before you (F)an open door which no one can shut, because you have a little power, and have followed My word, and (G)have not denied My name. Behold, I [b]will make those of (H)the synagogue of Satan, who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie—I will make them (I)come and bow down before your feet, and make them know that (J)I have loved you. 10 Because you have (K)kept (L)My [c]word of perseverance, (M)I also will keep you from the hour of the [d](N)testing, that hour which is about to come upon the whole [e](O)world, to [f]test (P)those who live on the earth. 11 (Q)I am coming quickly; (R)hold firmly to what you have, so that no one will take your (S)crown. 12 (T)The one who overcomes, I will make him a (U)pillar in the temple of My God, and he will not go out from it anymore; and I will write on him the (V)name of My God, and (W)the name of the city of My God, (X)the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God, and My (Y)new name. 13 (Z)The one who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’

Message to Laodicea

14 “To the angel of the church in (AA)Laodicea write:

(AB)The Amen, (AC)the faithful and true Witness, (AD)the [g]Origin of the creation of God, says this:

15 (AE)I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; (AF)I wish that you were cold or hot. 16 So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of My mouth. 17 Because you say, “(AG)I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have no need of anything,” and you do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked, 18 I advise you to (AH)buy from Me (AI)gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, and (AJ)white garments so that you may clothe yourself and (AK)the shame of your nakedness will not be revealed; and eye salve to apply to your eyes so that you may see. 19 (AL)Those whom I love, I rebuke and discipline; therefore be zealous and (AM)repent. 20 Behold, I stand (AN)at the door and (AO)knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, (AP)I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me. 21 (AQ)The one who overcomes, I will grant to him (AR)to sit with Me on My throne, as (AS)I also overcame and sat with My Father on His throne. 22 (AT)The one who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’”
